We always knew that Diane was passionate about fashion, but hearing her discuss her new fragrance it is clear she is also a fragrance fanatic.
HR: Why did you decide to launch a signature fragrance?
DVF: I wanted to create a classic to remind women of the power of perfume because I think they have forgotten. It is really a weapon for seduction!
HR: How would you describe the woman who wears the Diane fragrance?
DVF: She is bold, seductive, strong, and confident. She is the woman she wants to be!
HR: What is your earliest scent memory?
DVF: My mother’s perfume. It was called Bandit.
HR: Do you believe in wearing one signature scent or having several to choose from?
DVF: I think a signature scent can be very powerful. Scent is so strongly connected to memory and it can become a part of you and be that familiar thing that people remember. Your scent is what you leave behind once you have gone. But, you can have several versions of the same note. For example, we are launching Sunny DIANE in June which is a lighter version for summer but there is still that Frangiapani flower and notes that are distinctive.
HR: If you had to describe the fragrance in one word, what would it be?
DVF: Seductive.
