For New York-based designer Maria Cornejo her iphone has become her secret weapon for collecting graphic snapshots that she later transforms into her famous digitalized prints. For fall, her collection focused on her quest for identity (perhaps a result of having recently obtained her American citizenship) and prints took centre stage. The Chilean-born designer has long been a favourite among editors and fashion bigwigs like Tilda Swinton and Michelle Obama, but her sculptural, minimalist designs are now becoming a wardrobe staple among stylish women everywhere. Her clothes are comfortable and chic, with a distinct architectural flare that makes them easy to take from day to night—all you need is a quick shoe change. Highlights for fall are the cocoon shaped coats and chartreuse accents that will punctuate any cold-weather look.
The zero + Maria Cornejo Fall 2012 collection is now available at select Holt Renfrew locations.
