Blair Eadie’s quirky coast-to-coast style has quickly become a mini sensation on the blogosphere. Her blog, fittingly entitled Atlantic-Pacific, chronicles her fresh take on fashion and showcases her fearless personal style. Whether it’s a big bow, a stack of arm candy, oversized sunnies or the perfectly coifed poof, Blair always injects a little humour into her look. With a mix of both East and West coast sensibilities, you can’t help but be inspired by her playful approach to fashion.
Holts chatted with Blair about what inspires her and what she’s excited about for the holidays.
HR: How would you define your personal style?
Eadie: I am originally from the east coast, but I am now living on the west coast in California. I would say my east coast upbringing has caused my style to take on a preppy and more ‘buttoned up’ undertone. I always love to incorporate color, print and pattern in my looks, which creates an optimistic edge in many of my looks. I love to layer and accessorize to create a lot of interest and dimension.
HR: If you had to choose, what are your three wardrobe staples?
Eadie: A great pair of versatile heels, a statement necklace and an interesting layering piece.
HR: Who are your fashion inspirations?
Eadie: I get most of my inspiration from the internet, fellow bloggers, well-curated tumblr pages and online ‘inspiration/tear boards’. If I do look to celebrities, I very much admire the style of Joanna Hillman, Olivia Palermo, and Miroslava Duma.
HR: What are the fashion philosophies you live by?
Eadie: Fashion should above all be fun. I don’t take anything fashion-related too seriously. The true joy of fashion is when you treat it like art. I try to do that every day.
HR: What was your biggest fashion mistake?
Eadie: I have to name just one!? I have made and still make a lot of mistakes. I would say my biggest mistake was when I was younger—and still finding my fashion voice—I would chase trends. While trends drive the fashion world, it is important to pick which trends work for you and make them your own.
HR: What are some of your holiday styling tips?
Eadie: I would recommend buying items that can be worn several different ways or for different occasions. Versatility is very important to me. I never buy something I know I will wear just once. Before the holidays get into full swing, I also love to clean out my closet to make room for new items, rediscover those hidden gems I forgot about and sell any items I am ready to part with to make room for new ones.
HR: What items are on your holiday wish list?
Eadie: A sequin mini dress perfect for party season, a mixed-media jacket, a chic pair of lace up booties, a great cape coat, and a big cozy sweater!
